Sam Childers is a man on a mission…literally. He goes where angels fear to tread. He goes deep into the war torn areas of East Africa to rescue the children of Sudan.
We met Sam last year when he came to West Coast Choppers to have a bike built for himself…well sorta. He actually was having it built so he could raffle it off to raise money to fund his work in Africa. He has rescued hundreds of children in the most dangerous war torn areas of Sudan. He has built an entire compound from the ground up to protect, shelter, feed, educate, and heal the minds and bodies of the men, women and children he saves. He travels there 3 or 4 times a year and goes on 2 week missions into the bush risking his life in hopes of saving others’ lives.
There’s no way we can do justice to his story in a few paragraphs. Check out his websites at either machinegunpreacher.org or angelsofeastafrica.org to learn more about him and his work. Anybody with the title of Machine Gun Preacher is A-OK in our book.

Character is doing the right thing when no one is looking- “Machine Gun Preacher” is one of those that lead by example.

Just seeing the mural on the tank brings a tear to my eye. Thank you both for helping out the most innocent of those involved. Jesse, you already know what I think. Sam, I’ll ask the big guy to save you a place at the table.

Thank You Jesse for bringing this person to our attention. I have actually been trying to find a way to help out in Sudan since an Italian friend of ours had been teling us about how bad it was and he, himself was feeling helpless about how to help without feeling like they were giving moeny to a middle man organization that was not helping. I will help Sam Childers out however I can.
You’re a good man Jesse.

It’s cool that Jesse gets involved in this type of thing, I would love to have him next year try to help out with our USO bike ride here in Fl. Every year we raise more for the USO than anyone else in the state, a very worth while event for our troops. Keep up the great work guys and girls!

The phrase is from a song from WW2 called “Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition”.

It’s a nice thing you’re doing Mr. James…
