I am an architectural and Sculptural Blacksmith working in San Diego, California. On a daily basis, I am exposed to extreme heat, open flame, flying sparks and molten metal. I am very serious about the clothing that I wear in the shop. Many times, it is the only thing between me and a serious injury or burn.
I recently tried out a pair of Jesse James 12 Oz Canvas Utility Carpenter pants. I have owned them for a few weeks now and I can say that they have performed flawlessly. The weight of the pants is perfect. Not so heavy that you can’t move and not so light that you don’t feel protected. The most surprising thing for me is how well they fit. You guys really got this right. There is extra room in the seat, crotch and legs. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this when I’m hanging upside down attempting to get to an awkward weld on the inside of a sculpture. BTW, I also picked up one of your heavy cotton canvas work shirts and it was equally impressive. The price is great and the quality is top notch. Thank you for producing a superior product for hard working men and women.
P.S. The photo is me forging a sculptural element on a vintage 100lb Bradley Power Hammer.
