birth of a hot rod

austin speed shop shows how it’s done

We wanted to know what was up over at AUSTIN SPEED SHOP , so our guy Paul sent this over:

“A little while ago, we started building a hot rod for our pal Roger. The plan was simple- build an early style hot rod. Juice brakes, Flathead V8, drop it a tad, and a little off the top. A classic combination you might see in the early 1950’s which is lovingly referred to in the hot rod world as an AV8. Most, if not all, of the parts used in the build are period correct- the axle, engine, trans, and brakes are all from the late 1940’s.

We knew it was going to be cool, but as it took shape this little car took on a personality of it’s own. There’s nothing crazy or extreme about it, it’s just a damn good little hot rod that sounds mean and is FUN to drive, and that’s what it’s all about.”

Stay tuned for more updates on from the boys at A.S.S.!

Terrific work! This is the type of information that should be shared around the web. Shame on the search engines for not positioning this post higher!
