West Coast Choppers

SIT! STAY! NO! DON’T DO THAT THERE! WELCOME CINNABUN

What’s white and brown and pees all over? CINNABUN! Say hello to the newest addition to the West Coast Choppers Family. She’s got the attitude of a charging rhino and the bladder of a hummingbird.

But we love her just the same. At least she’s more polite than Mr. T who is either chasing strangers up onto tool chests in the shop if he doesn’t like them, or humping their leg if they’re one of his “favorite” people. Nope, Cinnabun’s a little charmer. She’s a pure bred Blue Fawn Pit that Jesse brought home from the fair. Really. That’s a little more of a commitment than a goldfish in a sandwich bag, we’ll give him that. True story: A man from Heavy Duty Kennel in Jerseyville, Illinois had heard about us losing Cisco this past year and showed up at the event, puppy in hand and offered her to Jesse when he was there on the Working Man’s Tour for the workwear line. How could you say no to that little face? Well, he didn’t. So she made the trip in the WCC semi all the way across the country and back to Long Beach. Several rolls of paper towels later, and several hundred expletives from our driver Damien, she made it here and quickly started barking orders to Mr. T and the rest of us.

To think that some people come back from the fair with a stuffed animal, an attractively framed Budweiser mirror, and a funnel cake. Tragic. They’re just going to all the wrong fairs!

ENGLAND GAVE US 4 BEATLES. WE’RE GIVING THEM SOMETHING A LITTLE MORE SUBSTANTIAL…850 HORSES.

Have trophy truck…will travel. The West Coast Choppers trophy truck is out on summer vacation. Hitting all the hot spots in Europe. Jesse is driving it right now in England at the Goodwood Festival of Speed [ F.O.S. for those in the loop ]. It’s the first time in 17 years that a trophy truck has been invited to the festival, and will most likely make quite a big impression on those little fish and chip eating Brits.

After Goodwood, the trophy truck takes a little time off for sight seeing and sunning along the coast. Then vacation’s over. Jesse returns to Europe, July 24th-26th, this time in Germany, competing in the Baja 300 Powerdays just outside of Berlin. So get those damn little squirrely Subarus off the road and make way for some real American Style off road racing!

WHAT’S BLUE, WHITE, GOLD, AND GREEN ALL OVER…

June 16th, 2009 is a day for the record books. Jesse James officially broke the hydrogen land speed record in the West Coast Choppers-built, totally green, emission-free, hydrogen car. With some technological know how and equipment from his pals at Quantum Technologies, he was able to rocket the streamliner to 199mph and some change.

And while it was sunny and warm for the most part at El Mirage, it was probably a sad, cold day at the BMW shop in Germany where lots of tense little engineers in white lab coats with clip boards were probably pacing and wringing their hands. Maybe if they stripped a few layers of show wax off that car they could could up their speed by a digit or two. Or maybe add some flames to their paint job, or use an American made big block…dunno, just a few suggestions. But if you want to catch the whole story, and see the record stomping run, be sure to catch the season finale of Jesse James is a Dead Man on SPIKE on August 9th.
